Great TV.. easy to set up and use; vivid rich colors; good audio May 20, 2009 crunkcar (New York) 9 out of 9 found this review helpful
After searching the web for a 26" TV from the well known Japanese and Korean brands I found that all these TV's are made in China anyway, so I figured, "Why not buy from the source?" Haier is a huge Chinese company, more known for washers, dryers, and refrigerators than electronics, but thoroughly reputable and their 26" TV was $150-$200 less than the same size Japanese or Korean models. The TV arrived on time and I was pleased with the appearance... sleek and well finished. The setup was easy and I was watching in 10 minutes. The remote is not complicated and logical. The picture is superb with beautiful color rendition and good visibility from the sides. The audio is good for the small speakers. DVD hookup was easy. This is a very good TV for the money.
Great TV, Elegant style, Reasonable price and free shipping August 15, 2009 Jia J. Mai (Boston, MA United States) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I bought this TV two months ago. I found this one is better than the Toshiba HDTV that I bought a year ago. The image is sharp clear, no fuzzy ghost image. The remote control is not complicated.
Given the quality and price and free shipping, I highly recommend this TV.
The right size...a good price. January 20, 2009 J. York (San Diego, Ca. USA) 13 out of 13 found this review helpful
After much searching, I settled on the Haier HL26R for my den TV. The HL22R would work as well but they always say that people wished they had bought a bigger LCD TV. I found the Haier has more features than the Sharps. Like a headphone jack for example. Pictures is excellent. Sound is a bit cheap but all smaller LCD's are this way. Connected to surround sound system would sound better. The HL26R is great all purpose TV. You can pay much more for the best 1080 picture. However my eyes are completely happy with this set. And the price was right for my budget.
Great TV, wonderful price June 24, 2009 James Fuqua (DC) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
We bought the Haier 26" TV about three months ago, and absolutely love it. I must admit, we were coming from a 15-year-old 19" TV, so this is our first flat-panel LCD TV. However, I must say I was really surprised by the great picture we've gotten with this TV. I did a lot of research, and have looked at a lot of TVs in the big box shops. This TV has nice deep blacks and vibrant colors. Just make sure you have an HDMI cable, the standard video cable inputs will give you very strange boxing of the video feed.
Though I really enjoy the TV, there are a few cons. The most major one is the lack of dynamic recognition of the incoming video type. We watch mostly DVDs, and the TV does not automatically recognize whether the video feed is widescreen or standard, so you must choose the video type each time. (This is really annoying on some DVDs as the menu or previews may be standard, while the main show is widescreen.) The TV comes with a really nifty universal remote, but the volume control ONLY works for the TV, and the control buttons don't fully match up to our DVD player (a new model Philips). Also, the TV is very slow to respond to the remote, it is also slow to turn on and off. Overall, these are minor complaints to what is a very nice TV. We really love it.
Haier 26in TV July 29, 2010 Kristopher B. Henderson Alright this tv is great for normal everyday watching TV but Video Gaming wise, Stay away from this TV. Also Tv has great sound but like I said not for gaming. Bass sucks and I have a noticable line going down the left side of the tv.
